This photograph was take while on my second hike for the day at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park on the Devil's Hall trail. Although mid-day, the consistent cloud coverage created the most perfect pockets of shade to offer great depth and contrast within the image. This may have been a solo hike, but the warm wind and desert chirps urged me to stop at every turn for a photo-op!
