Chihuahuan Desert Wildflowers

A big part of my trip to the four U.S. national parks within the Chihuahuan Desert (Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains, White Sands, and Carlsbad Caverns) was to capture mountains when I could, but to also focus on the desert’s deep textures. I wasn’t sure what to expect for my first extended trip through the Chihuahuan Desert, but I was pleasantly astonished at the wildflowers in the southwest United States.

These flowers are unique to fresh eyes, but since my trip I now notice a few throughout the Texas hill country. Here are some of my favorites with their common names and locations.
